Emotional and Psychological Trauma - Any situation that leaves you feeling overwhelmed and alone can be traumatic. Even if it doesn't involve physical harm, it is your subjective emotional experience of an event. The more frightened and helpless you feel, the more likely you can experience trauma.

Causes can be:

- it happened unexpectedly
- you felt powerless to prevent it
- it happened repeatedly
- someone was intentionally cruel
- it happened in childhood

Overlooked causes:

- can be falls or sports injuries
- surgeries
- sudden death of someone close
- a car accident
- the breaking up of a significant relationshlp
- a humiliating or deeply disappointing experience
- a life-threatening illness

Hypnosis can be one of the most powerful interventions when dealing with subjective emotional attachments.
